Kyrgyz-Swedish relations

The Kingdom of Sweden recognized the independence of Kyrgyzstan on January 16, 1992. Diplomatic relations were established on March 25, 1992.
On March 20, 2016, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Christian Camill presented his credentials to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Honorary Consul of Sweden to the Kyrgyz Republic since 2003 is Mamyrov Nurlan.

According to the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic from March 20, 2019, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany is responsible for the issues of cooperation with the Kingdom of Sweden.

In March 2002, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic paid a working visit to Sweden.

In the period from 29 to 30 October 2002, the Swedish delegation took part in the Global Mountain Summit in Bishkek, headed by the Minister of International Cooperation and Migration.

On January 29, 2020, a Swedish parliamentary delegation headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament (Social Democratic Party) visited the Kyrgyz Republic.

On July 9, 2020, telephone conversations were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden.

On April 12-13, 2021, the OSCE Chairman- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden visited the Kyrgyz Republic.

On May 1, 2021, the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with the OSCE Chairman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden took place via videoconference.

On October 21, 2021, consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Investment of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden via videoconference.

On December 3, 2021, in the city of Stockholm, as part of the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, the OSCE Chairman.
