On August 23, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Japan, Osoev Erkinbek met with the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mr. Akihiko TANAKA at the headquarters of the Agency. During the meeting, the Ambassador noted that the Kyrgyz Republic highly appreciates the cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Agency and the continued contribution of the Japanese side to the priority areas of development of Kyrgyzstan. The Ambassador also highlighted the successful joint project "One Village - One Product" in Issyk-Kul region, launched by JICA 12 years ago in Kyrgyzstan, as well as cooperation under the Japanese Grant Aid Program for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) in the framework of which civil and municipal servants of Kyrgyzstan study in the leading Japanese universities. In turn, the President of the Agency, Mr. Tanaka, positively evaluated that the "One Village - One Product" project was given the status of a national project. He also emphasized the importance for Kyrgyzstan and Japan to exchange knowledge and cooperation in the field of education that makes a special contribution to the development of bilateral relations. At the end of the meeting, the Parties agreed to further promote the mutually beneficial cooperation.
