Kyrgyz Republic participated in the exhibition "Tourism EXPO Japan 2023"

       Japan Travel and Tourism Association, the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) held «Tourism EXPO Japan 2023 Osaka/Kansai», at INTEX OSAKA for four days from October 26 to October 29. Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka/Kansai, the ninth in the series, held exhibiting in Osaka in anticipation of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, under the theme of "OPEN THE DOOR TO THE FUTURE," with 1,275 companies and organizations from 70 countries and regions around the world and throughout Japan Exhibiting companies and organizations introduced the future of tourism with an eye toward the next generation. The Osaka-Kansai Future Zone presented an overview and introduced the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

       Unlike other tourism exhibitions, the national stands at this Osaka exhibition are grouped by geographical principle. The pavilion of the Kyrgyz Republic together with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan became a special part of the large Central Asian stand. The National Pavilion of the Kyrgyz Republic at the exhibition was organized by the Tourism Development Support Fund with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan and the Kyrgyz Diaspora in Japan.

     On October 26, 2023, the official opening of the national stand of the Kyrgyz Republic took place. The red ribbon was cut by Abylkasym Sherniyazov - President of the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic, Sakamoto Atsuki - Director of the Private Sector Development Group of the Economic Development Department (JICA), and Savitakhun Isakov - Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan.

     With the support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic organized important business meetings with representatives of various organizations/agencies in Japan that play a key role in the development of tourism in Japan. Along with other organizations of Japan in the field of tourism, on 27-October the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan organized for the Kyrgyz side bilateral meetings with Mr. Yuji Hara, Vice-Chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Mr. Hideo Okubo, Deputy General Manager of JATA, Mr. Sakamato Atsuki, Director of the Private Sector Development Group of the Economic Development Department (JICA), Mr. Bunno Takashi, Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, where the prospects of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan in the field of tourism were discussed.

       During the October 26-29, the participants of the Kyrgyz side represented by representatives of the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Kyrgyz Republic managed to organize 112 important business meetings with interested persons and companies of Japan. During this event, representatives of Kyrgyz travel companies presenting their services at this exhibition with the support of the Kyrgyz Diaspora in Japan also organized a large number of business meetings with interested partners, organizations, and companies.

     Tourism EXPO Japan, a comprehensive tourism event, brings together key players in the global tourism industry and related businesses. The event offers a wide range of opportunities from business meetings, exchanges, and discussions to direct promotions for enterprises and customers, and provides an opportunity to meet with key players in the global tourism industry to generate new business. The said event in Osaka was held according to the following schedule:
