On February 21, 2024, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Japan E.Osoev held official meetings with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan-State Minister Mr. Kyoto Tsuji and Parliamentary Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Mr. Yoshiro Fukuzawa.

       During detailed conversations and exchange of views, the parties confirmed their readiness to take active action to further strengthen political, economic, interparliamentary, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

       Ambassador E.Osoev emphasized that the results of the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Zhaparov to Japan in November 2023 are considered by the Kyrgyz side to be very positive and historical.

       The parties agreed to make maximum efforts to implement the agreements reached during the visit.

       Ambassador E.Osoev expressed gratitude to the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for effective assistance during the preparation and conducting the visit of the Head of State and briefly informed about the events planned by the Kyrgyz side for 2024, taking into account the results of the visit.

       The parties also agreed to continue work on organizing the visit of the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev to Japan in the fall of 2024.

      In addition, the parties discussed issues of economic diplomacy between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan and noted the trend towards an increase in the number of Japanese companies in the Kyrgyz Republic in such areas as banking, human resources, hydropower, information technology and others, and also agreed to maximize cooperation in these areas together with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japan Association for Trade with Russia and the CIS (ROTOBO), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and other organizations.
