On April 10, 2024 Ambassador Mr. Erkinbek Osoev held a meeting met with Mr. Toshio Tsunozaki, former Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic with residence in Almaty city.

The meeting was organised in order to discuss the details of the planned cultural event in the Kyrgyz Republic from 16 to 18 of May, 2024, the beginning of which was laid during the meetings and negotiations of the Ambassador E.Osoev with Mr. T. Tsunozaki in 2023.

The meeting was also attended by T.Tsunozaki's spouse Mrs. Etsuko Tsunozaki, the narrator of "Rakugo" Mr. Sanjutei Rakumaro, the President of the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Culture through "Rakugo" and performer of soprano Ms. Hiraoka Takako.

During the meeting, Mr. T.Tsunozaki presented information about the cultural event planned from 16 to 18 of May, 2024 in the Kyrgyz Republic (evening of cultural exchange and friendship), which will be held at the Kyrgyz State University named after I.Arabaev; at Bishkek State University and at the Presidential Lyceum "Akylman" (Cholpon-Ata city).

During the upcoming event, the culture and music of the Edo period of Japan, children's and folk songs (both in Kyrgyz and Japanese languages) and "rakugo" performance will be presented with translation into the state or official languages of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The guests of the event will also be treated with japanese sweets and will take part in traditional japanese games. A question and answer session will be organised at the end of the event.

The Ambassador Erkinbek Osoev expressed his gratitude to Mr. Tsunozaki and the guests of the meeting for their efforts and contribution to the development of cultural relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, which contributes to the rapprochement of the countries at all levels.

Further, the Ambassador invited the guests of the meeting to taste Kyrgyz national dishes in the reception hall of the Embassy.

This meeting took place on the day of Orozo Ait celebration, in this regard, the Embassy had worked out in advance the organisation of the cultural event with guests and compatriots living in Japan.
