A favorable basis for the development of cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries is the commonality of historical, cultural and spiritual roots of the two peoples.

Cultural, sports and other delegations of the two countries regularly participate in various events held in Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

In May 2015, the Days of Turkmen Culture in the Kyrgyz Republic took place. Representatives of the creative delegation of Turkmenistan introduced the Kyrgyz people with the original Turkmen national music, modern pop songs, samples of folk arts and crafts and works of masters of fine arts.

The return Days of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkmenistan were held in June 2016. The program of the Days of Culture included performances by creative groups, an exhibition of works of arts and crafts and fine arts, and screenings of the best Kyrgyz films.

The delegation of Turkmenistan took an active part in the II World Nomad Games in September 2016, taking second place in the sports competition. At the same time, there was a performance of the group of national horse games "Galkynysh" of the Akhalteke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan.

In September 2017 in Ashgabat in the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games took part the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, represented by 153 athletes. The Kyrgyz national team took a worthy 8th place in the team event out of 64 teams from the countries of Asia and Oceania.

Delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in XIV Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals of CIS (May 15-61, 2019, Ashkhabad) Delegation of Turkmenistan took part in opening of the Year "Osh - Cultural Capital of Turkic World" (April 21, 2019, Osh).

In October 2019, Kyrgyz book publishers took part in the Ashgabat International Book Fair-Exhibition.

In February 2019, qualification matches of the AFC Cup 2019 between soccer clubs "Alai" (Osh city) and "Akhal" (Akhal velayat of Turkmenistan) were held in Osh and Ashgabat cities. Also as part of the AFC Cup 2019, matches between soccer teams "Dordoi" (Bishkek) and "Altyn Asyr" (Ashgabat) were held in April and June 2019 in Bishkek and Ashgabat.

Kyrgyz companies took part in the exhibition of national goods produced in Central Asia (August 6, 2021, International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi).

Within the framework of the First Inter-parliamentary Forum and Dialogue of women parliamentarians of the Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation (May 11-13, 2022 in Ashgabat), on June 13, 2022 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Kyrgyz pavilion with the exposure of economic and cultural achievements, with national souvenirs was demonstrated.

During the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan (June 27-28, 2021), Presidents S.Zhaparov and G.Berdymukhamedov noted the need to increase cultural and humanitarian cooperation, strengthen contacts on holding festivals and Days of Culture in both countries, establish regular contacts between representatives of the creative and scientific intellectuals.

The parties agreed to organize cross Days of Culture when conditions are favorable (after the epidemiological situation is stabilized).
