Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom G.T. Iskakova took part and spoke at the 7th “MINEX Eurasia 2018” Forum on Mining and Investment Prospects in Eurasia, which took place on November 23, 2018 in London.

Within the framework of participation in the forum, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic G. Iskakova presented her statement in the section of the forum devoted to the mining industry in Central Asia (“Mining in wider Central Asia”) on the topic: “The mining industry of the Kyrgyz Republic: legislation on subsoil use, investment opportunities and prospects”, during which she spoke about the current status and prospects of investment in the field of the mining industry in Kyrgyzstan.

The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in her speech described the open and perspective natural mineral deposits of Kyrgyzstan, spoke about the efforts of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to create favorable conditions for foreign investors in the mining industry, the procedure for granting the right to use subsoil resources, favorable taxation of mining companies and the general investment climate in the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, the forum participants were familiarized with ongoing reforms in subsoil use in Kyrgyzstan, a transparent procedure for obtaining a license, as well as upcoming competitions and auctions.

At the same time, Ambassador G. Iskakova drew the attention of the forum’s participants, first of all, to the open political system of the country with the only one in the CIS and in the Central Asian region close to the parliamentary form of government, which is in geographically important strategic location of Kyrgyzstan at the junction between major trading partners, and the enormous potential for the development of industries, including hydropower and mining, agriculture and tourism.

Informational materials about investment opportunities, as well as an overview of the sectors of the economy of Kyrgyzstan were distributed among the participants of the forum.

The MINEX Eurasia Forum-2018 was organized by the British company Advantix Ltd. in partnership with the UK Department of International Trade (DIT). The forum provided a platform for discussion and exchange of views on the possibilities of a business partnership in the field of mining and investment in Eurasia with a focus on Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Russia and the countries of Central Asia.
