Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom Ulan Djusupov met with the Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Kazuhiko Koguchi

On October 21, 2022, in London, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom Ulan Djusupov met with the Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Mr. Kazuhiko Koguchi.

The parties discussed topical issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EBRD, the implementation of projects and programs of the Bank in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as conducting joint events to promote the economic and investment potential of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In this light, in early December this year, a joint Investment Forum for the Central Asian countries and Mongolia will be held in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. K.Koguchi conveyed the invitation by the President of the EBRD and the Minister of Finance of Japan, addressed to the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov.

The parties noted that the main goal of the upcoming Investment Forum should be to provide an opportunity for Kyrgyzstan and other countries of the region to present their investment opportunities to international and Japanese business circles, discuss issues of financing trade and suppliers, transforming the energy sector to the principles of generating clean energy, and develop opportunities for "smart infrastructure”, attraction of new technologies, know-how, sustain of human capital, etc.

Ambassador U. Djusupov also noted the importance of strengthening contacts between the business circles of the participating parties, creating opportunities for them to search for investment partners for their green economy projects.

The Kyrgyz side also briefed the EBRD side about promising investment projects of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In conclusion of the conversation, the parties agreed to continue close contact to promote issues actual for the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of "green development", environmental protection, and the development of creative and information technologies.
