On April 29, 2024, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Asein Isaev accepted a copy of the letter from the newly appointed Head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Samman Jung Thapa.

During the meeting, the sides discussed priority areas of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNICEF. In particular, the UNICEF representative spoke about the plans of the UNICEF Country Program for 2023-2027 and ways of it’s implementation.

In turn, A. Isaev emphasized the importance of UNICEF’s assistance to Kyrgyzstan over many years in the field of maternal and child health, education, child poverty reduction, and a whole range of other programs aimed at ensuring and protecting the rights and interests of the child.

Concluding the meeting, A. Isaev congratulated Samman Jung Thapa on his appointment to a responsible position, wished him success in his activities and expressed hope for continued further fruitful cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNICEF.
