Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Slovakia, H.E. Mr. Bakyt Dzhusupov, presented his Сredentials to the President of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Ms. Zuzana Čaputova

On December 17, 2019, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Slovakia, H.E. Mr. Bakyt Dzhusupov, presented his Сredentials to the President of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Ms. Zuzana Čaputova.

As part of the conversation that took place in the Grassalkovich Palace, the parties discussed the current pace of development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia. An exchange of views took place on the further development of political and economic cooperation between the countries.

During the visit to Bratislava, the Ambassador also had bilateral meetings with the Director General of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Hrivik, Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Viktor Borecky, Executive Director of the Department of Special State Operations of the Slovak Ministry of Finance Andrea Holikova.

Martin Hrivik supported the Ambassador’s proposal for a separate business forum and agreed to provide the necessary assistance in forming a group of businessmen interested in investing in the hydropower, tourism, agricultural and other sectors of the Kyrgyz economy.

Viktor Borecky expressed interest in developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. The Ambassador noted the importance of resuming work on the implementation of the Agreement on economic cooperation, providing for the creation of a joint Intergovernmental Commission, which will serve as one of the main institutional mechanisms for cooperation on trade and economic issues.

At the Ministry of Finance of Slovakia, Bakyt Dzhusupov announced the willingness of the Kyrgyz side to jointly resume work on concluding an Agreement on avoiding double taxation and organizing negotiations between the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, including a visit by experts of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic to the Kyrgyz Republic.
