Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Cultural dialogue between peoples has become a good tradition.  A huge role in getting acquainted with the culture of both states belongs to the theater groups of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.  Regularly held festivals, in which creative teams of the two countries take part, contribute to the rapprochement of peoples and the strengthening of cultural ties.

From 8 to 13 July 2015, the Days of Culture of Tajikistan were held in Kyrgyzstan.  On November 16-20, 2016, the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan were successfully held in Tajikistan.  The next Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan was planned in 2018.

In accordance with the existing agreements, 25 state-funded places are allocated annually to the citizens of Tajikistan for education in the universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and 55 places from the Tajik side for the education of ethnic Tajiks living in the Kyrgyz Republic in the universities of Tajikistan.

In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 81 “On the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Ch.T. Aitmatov” dated April 20, 2017, in January 2018, with the assistance of the Embassy, the last work of Ch. Aitmatov was published in Dushanbe  - the novel "When the mountains fall" in the Tajik language, in the amount of 1 thousand copies. The novel was translated into Tajik by Hikmat Rahmat, a member of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tajikistan.  On February 1, 2018, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Zheenbekov, during his official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, presented one copy of the novel to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan E. Rahmon.

The Parties take an active part in cultural and sports events held in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in particular:

February 15, 2020  The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the premiere of the play "When the Mountains Fall", which was staged in Tajik based on the novel by Ch. Aitmatov at the Theater.of M. Vakhidov, Dushanbe;

Cultural figures of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the international fashion week "Burana fashion week 2021", in February 2021;

 Cultural figures of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the fashion week "Tajikistan Fashion Week 2021", which was held from April 2 to April 4, 2021 in Dushanbe;

December 18, 2021  the closing ceremony of the year "Dushanbe - the cultural capital of the CIS - 2021" and the transfer of the baton to the city of Karakol for 2022 was held;

June 6 this year  The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Tajikistan took part in the International Festival of Folk Crafts and National Cuisine, organized as part of the Second High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028".
