On November 22, 2021, as part of the planned work to promote economic diplomacy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Italy, a delegation of Italian business community visited Kyrgyzstan. In accordance with the program of the business mission for the Italian business community on November 22 this year. a joint business forum "Kyrgyzstan-Italy" was organized, and on November 23 this year is planned the visiting of industrial facilities

The purpose of the business forum was to create an effective platform for the spread of information about investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the main aspects of doing business in the Kyrgyz Republic, its priority sectors of the economy with an emphasis on specific potential sectors and investment projects, as well as assistance in establishing business ties between entrepreneurs of both countries. issues of mutual interest.

At the opening of the forum, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan in Italy Taalay Bazarbayev, Director of the Sixth Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ermek Omuraliev and on behalf of Italian businessmen, Head of the Business Mission, Head of “Studio Castiello & Partners” Antonio Castilo made their greeting speeches.

The Italian delegation was represented by various companies which specialized in such areas as consulting, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, agriculture, textiles, metallurgy, etc.

During the business forum, in response to requests from Italian businessmen about their needs in terms of providing extensive information on the legal, tax and financial aspects of doing business in the Kyrgyz Republic, existing incentives and preferences for foreign investors and potential investment projects, representatives of the state authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic spoke about the existing opportunities made a country presentation on investment opportunities and thematic presentations on garment and textile, energy with an emphasis on small hydroelectric power plants, agricultural, agro-food processing, tourism and mining industries, and separately on the advantages of SEZs on the example of SEZs in Bishkek.

In addition, videos on the activities of the free economic zone "Bishkek" and the country's tourism potential in winter were presented at the forum.

         During the business forum, it was noted that this type of events will help find common ground for building mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation and determining an effective format for interaction between business circles of the Kyrgyz Republic and Italy.

Further, in the B2B format, Italian entrepreneurs held meetings with interested representatives of the business circles of Kyrgyzstan, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for the implementation of specific projects in Kyrgyzstan in priority sectors of the economy.

As a result of the meetings, there were reached agreements on establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries, joint work to determine further action plans for the implementation of economic projects, using the latest Italian technologies, advanced experience and investments.

In conclusion, Italian businessmen expressed satisfaction with the results of the business forum, and, emphasizing that a number of Italian companies have serious intentions to invest in projects in Central Asia, expressed interest in the Kyrgyz Republic and stressed their readiness to study in detail the information provided and, in particular, the presented projects with the intention of their further elaboration. The Italian delegation expressed their desire to come to the Kyrgyz Republic again for the systematic implementation of the above plans

As part of the program, on November 23, 2021, Italian businessmen visited two industrial facilities in the Chui region for the production of shoes and men's suits, and also got acquainted with the activities of OJSC “Chakan GES.”
