The Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Aida Kasymaliyeva met with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov

On March 11, 2022, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Aida Kasymaliyeva met with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN Counter-Terrorism Office, as well as the implementation of project and program activities.

Both sides noted with appreciation the adoption of the updated Joint Action Plan for Central Asia for the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which promotes preventive measures in countering terrorism and extremism in the region.

Aida Kasymalieva noted that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the work of the UNOCT Regional Coordinator in Central Asia with deployment in Bishkek, in this regard, considers it important to ensure the continued presence of a representative of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office in the region.

In addition, both sides exchanged views on other issues of the regional cooperation.
