The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Avazbek Atakhanov commented on the border incident that occurred on June 3, 2022 in the Bulak-Bashy area of ​​the Batken district of the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the border with the Republic of Tajikistan, during which two servicemen of the Kyrgyz Republic was seriously injured.

He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic proceeds from the unchanging position on the need to comply with the agreements reached not to create conditions in the future that could lead to an escalation of the situation in the border areas between the two countries.

At the same time, he stressed that all existing problems should be solved exclusively by political and diplomatic means.

According to A.Atakhanov, in order to avoid the recurrence of such situations, the parties should mutually strive to create a constructive and benevolent atmosphere in resolving border issues in order to exclude various scenarios of military clashes in the future that could lead to the death of citizens and military personnel on both sides, destroy the centuries-old good-neighbourly relations between the two peoples.
