The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Nuran Niyazaliev met with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov

On July 25, 2022, Mr. Nuran Niyazaliev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic met with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (OSCE HCNM) Kairat Abdrakhmanov. 

Mr. Niyazaliev welcomed Mr. K.Abdrakhmanov on his first visit to Kyrgyzstan as High Commissioner for National Minorities, noting with satisfaction that for the first time a representative of the Central Asian region was elected to such a high post in the OSCE.

In turn, Mr. Abdrakhmanov expressed gratitude for the hospitality and organization of his visit to Kyrgyzstan. He congratulated on the successful holding of the Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia on July 21 in Cholpon-Ata and noted Kyrgyzstan's efforts to develop and strengthen regional cooperation. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current project activities of the HCNM Office in Kyrgyzstan on the promotion of the rights of national minorities, in particular, in the field of multicultural and multilingual education within the framework of the project for Central Asian countries, as well as other projects aimed at inter-ethnic harmony in society and earliest conflict prevention.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to the Office of the High Commissioner for the support provided in the development of the state Concept "Kyrgyz Jarany" (Kyrgyz citizen) and readiness to continue support in its implementation, as well as to provide the necessary assistance in solving the issues of ethnic Kyrgyz living in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
