Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic: comment on the briefing of Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Sodik Imomi September 19, 2022

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has carefully reviewed the information delivered at the briefing held by Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Sodik Imomi on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border on September 19, 2022.

The unprofessional and reckless comments made by a diplomat of such a senior rank on the domestic politics of a foreign state, including mentions of some alleged segregationist policy, do not correspond to reality and the elementary norms of diplomatic ethics. Clearly provocative statements representing a set of false and falsified information that does not correspond to reality, are presented as claims which a priori do not need to be confirmed.

At the same time, we would like to underline that the ongoing negotiation process on the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border cannot be a reason for an armed attack made with the aim to seize the sovereign territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Despite all the awkward and ridiculous attempts by the Tajik side clearly aimed at misleading the international community, the fact of the cruel armed aggression of the Republic of Tajikistan against the Kyrgyz Republic, made in violation of the fundamental principles and norms of international law, remains a fact.
