On the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the foreign ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Malawi signed the Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries

On September 22, 2022, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the foreign ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Malawi signed the Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The text of the Joint Communique notes that the Parties have established diplomatic relations guided by the principles and objectives of the UN Charter and international law, in particular respect and strengthening of international peace and security, equality between states, due respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, independence, international treaties and non-intervention in the internal affairs of states.

At the end of the signing ceremony of the Joint Communique Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev and Minister Nancy Tembo discussed possible areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Malawi on bilateral level and within the international organizations, primarily the UN.

In conclusion, the Parties expressed their mutual intention to promote the development of friendly relations and comprehensive interaction between the two countries.
