On February 29, 2024, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, Head of the Executive Committee of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) and Co-Chair of the AKDN’s Budget Review Committee, arrived in Kyrgyzstan.

Prince Rahim Aga Khan was welcomed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Asein Isaev at Manas International Airport upon arrival.

During a brief meeting, the parties discussed the agenda for the visit and upcoming meetings with the country's leadership.

The primary focus of the discussions was on the bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and AKDN, particularly emphasizing AKDN's project activities in socio-economic and educational spheres within the country.

Both parties underscored the significance of addressing mountain-related challenges and reaffirmed their commitment to joint initiatives aimed at environmental conservation and fostering sustainable, equitable economic growth.
