In the period from 18 to 22 February, 2022, within the framework of the work carried out by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to promote economic diplomacy, a visit of a delegation of representatives of the business community of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, together with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan H.E. Mr. U.Totuiaev, to the Kyrgyz Republic was organized. The Pakistani delegation included representatives of companies in the textile sector, tourism, food production, cosmetics, construction materials and electrical products.

The purpose of the visit was to establish business contacts with representatives of the business community of the Kyrgyz Republic, to build relations with interested state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as to study the trade and investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic for further fruitful cooperation.

During the visit, representatives of the Pakistani side met with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Agency for the Investments and Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic. Within the framework of above-mentioned meetings the Kyrgyz side provided detailed information to the businessmen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the economic activities of the Kyrgyz Republic, opportunities for establishing bilateral trade, investment and hydropower potential of the country.

Pakistani businessmen also participated in the meetings, organized at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, where the parties discussed issues of Kyrgyz-Pakistani trade and investment cooperation were discussed. Within the framework of these events, Pakistani businessmen took part in B2B meetings with business representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, where they had an opportunity to establish business contacts and set guidelines for the further development of mutually beneficial interaction.

Businessmen from the Pakistan visited the Bishkek Free Economic Zone, where they got acquainted with the activities of this organization, and also received all the necessary information about the possibilities for opening production facilities in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the event, the Embassy, among other things, organized B2B meetings with representatives of business circles of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as a visit to the production of textile products.

Following the visit, representatives of the Pakistani side expressed gratitude for organizing this event, showed interest in the Kyrgyz market, including in terms of bilateral trade, as well as opening production facilities in the Kyrgyz Republic and investing in various projects in Kyrgyzstan.
