Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with the Rector of the Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri

On May 8, 2023, in Riyadh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with the Rector of the Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri.

Ambassador U.Maripov discussed with the Saudi side the issues of developing and strengthening cooperation in the educational, academic and research fields between the Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University and higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In turn, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri supported the proposals of Ambassador U.Maripov, and assured of the readiness of Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University for mutually beneficial cooperation with universities of the Kyrgyz Republic, including by signing relevant memorandums, as well as to consider increasing the educational quotas for students from the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain constant contact to discuss further actions, as well as begin preparatory activities for signing draft Memorandums of Cooperation between the universities of the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by students from the Kyrgyz Republic studying at Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University.

For reference: Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University was founded in 1974 in accordance with the Royal Decree. It is one of the leading universities in Saudi Arabia. About 60 thousand Saudi and foreign students study at the University in various fields of science and technology, linguistics, medicine, etc.

Currently, 16 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are studying at this university, 2 of which are PhD students.
