Interview of the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations Mirgul Moldoisayeva to the UN Radio

On December 26, 2019, Unaited Nations Radio held an interview with Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations, Mirgul Moldoisayeva during which she talked about cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN, about the country's initiatives at the Organization’s platform, and shared her plans for further strengthening cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Organization United Nations. M.Moldoisaeva also said that in 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also spoke about the formation and development of Kyrgyz diplomacy.
The Permanent Representative informed about the main areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN - sustainable mountain development, socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian issues, the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, water and energy issues and maintaining peace and security. Touching upon the initiatives of Kyrgyzstan at the UN site, the Permanent Representative also drew attention to the task set by the Head of State S.Sh. Jeenbekov to strengthen a new direction - environmental diplomacy. In this context, also informed about the creation in August of this year Group of friends of mountain countries, the adoption on December 19, 2019 of the resolution “Sustainable Mountain Development” by the UN General Assembly, submitted by the Kyrgyz Republic and Italy, etc.

At the end of the conversation, M. Moldoisaeva shared her plans for the next year, saying that Kyrgyzstan will continue to advance the initiative, including aimed at combating climate change.
