Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the newly appointed Resident Coordinator of UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic Kristin Antje Grawe

On August 9, 2022 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the newly appointed Resident Coordinator of UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic Kristin Antje Grawe.

The meeting started with the ceremony of handing credentials which accredit Kristin Antje Grawe as Resident Coordinator of UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic. After the parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UN.

During the discussion the issues of further development of cooperation between the UN Office in the Kyrgyz Republic and public bodies of Kyrgyzstan on the implementation of new United Nations Development Assistance Framework, signed on June 10, 2022, were discussed. Resident Coordinator of UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic Kristin Antje Grawe noted her readiness to continue work on the current projected which are being implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic in order to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

For his part Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev confirmed full support to UN activities in the Kyrgyz Republic. Then he informed about the work of the Kyrgyz Republic to promote initiatives on issues of sustainable mountain development and mountain ecosystems preservation. Particularly he noted the UN resolutions “Nature knows no borders…” and “International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development, 2022” which had been adopted under Kyrgyzstan’s initiatives and expressed the country’s aspirations to establish cooperation with countries, UN institutions and other stakeholders to implement the adopted resolutions and future international initiatives.

Resident Coordinator of UN System in the Kyrgyz Republic positively noted the importance of such initiatives and express the readiness to interact with the Ministry of Foreign Affair and relevant public bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic.
