On the main square of the Kecioren municipality of Ankara the opening ceremony of the monument to the hero of the Kyrgyz epic Manas took place

On August 31, 2021, in honor of the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the main square of the Kecioren municipality of Ankara, the opening ceremony of the monument to the hero of the Kyrgyz epic Manas took place, during which President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop made video messages and conveyed their congratulations on this occasion.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov in his video message, noted that the opening of the monument to Manas in Turkey is perceived as a sign of respect of the Turkish brothers for the independence and statehood of the Kyrgyz people.

In turn, Speaker of Turkish Parliament Mustafa Sentop, in his video stressed that the Manas epic is a unique work of art that preserves the thousand-year history and genetic structure of the Kyrgyz people and reflects its way of life and culture.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Administration of President of the Republic of Turkey, members of parliament, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary accredited to Turkey, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and other ministries, representatives of international and public organizations, business structures, Kyrgyz and Turkish students, media representatives and Kyrgyz citizens living in Turkey.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev and Head of the Kechioren Municipality Turgut Altınok made the welcoming and congratulatory speeches.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev noted that the opening of the monument to Manas in honor of the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic is symbolic, expressed confidence that this monument will become a symbol of the eternal friendship of the two countries. He also drew attention to the fact that 1995 was declared as the year of the Manas Millennium, and in 2013 it was included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In addition, he noted that the epic "Manas" reflects the life of not only the Kyrgyz or other Turkic people, but also contains interesting information about the history and culture of foreign countries, with Turkic people had economic and diplomatic relations since ancient times. In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to the Kecioren Municipality and everyone who was involved in the creation of the monument.

Mayor of the Kecioren Municipality Turgut Altınok noted that the epic "Manas" is the longest epic in the world, which calling on people to unity, brotherhood and solidarity as well as tells about state governance and universal human values.

During the event, Kyrgyz melodies were played on komuz, a video clip about Kyrgyzstan and photo compositions from the Manas epic were demonstrated.
