Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic

On November 14, 2020 the Acting President, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N.Zhaparov officially renounced his duties of the Head of State and suspended the duties of the Prime Minister in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic for participation in early presidential elections scheduled to be held on January 10, 2021.
According to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, in case of early termination of powers by the President, until a new President is elected his duties are performed by the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh (Speaker of the Parliament). In addition, under Article 19 of the Constitutional Law "On the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic", while the Prime Minister is absent, his duties are performed by the First Deputy Prime Minister. 
Thus, the duties of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic are transferred to the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh T.Т.Mamytov, and those of the Prime Minister to the First Vice Prime Minister A.E.Novikov. 
The Kyrgyz Republic reaffirms its unwavering commitment to continuity in the implementation of its foreign policy and strict compliance with all its international obligations under previously reached bilateral and multilateral agreements.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic declares the continuation by the Kyrgyz Republic of the processes of establishing stability, promoting democratic reforms, strengthening the rule of law, protecting and promoting human rights. The Kyrgyz Republic will continue to pursue the course of achieving safe and sustainable development of the nation.
