The 65th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), to be held March 15 through 26, 2021 virtually in New York. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan took part at the level of the First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Aliza Soltonbekova.

Speaking at the general debate of the 65th session of the CSW, Aliza Soltonbekova noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has undertaken key international commitments on gender equality by ratifying the main international conventions and political documents on women's rights, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Beijing Platform for Action, and has joined the Global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In addition, Aliza Soltonbekova informed that since 2012 operates the National Council on Women and Gender Development under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and in 2015 the country submitted to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women its Fourth periodic report on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

Representatives of 160 UN Member States, International Organizations and Civil Society are invited to attend the session.
