On May 30, 2020 within the working visit to Lahore, Punjab province, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Ambassador Erik Beishembiev met with the President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, as well as honorary members of the Chamber.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of recovery and adaptation of the economies of the two countries under Covid-19 conditions, as well as prospects for expanding trade and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan and establishing direct business contacts between Kyrgyz and Pakistani private enterprises, which will be facilitated by coordination and support from government structures of the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador E.Beishembiev noted the interest of Kyrgyzstan in attracting Pakistani technologies and investments in the field of agriculture, textile and pharmacological industries, considering the possibility of creating joint ventures to export products from Kyrgyzstan to the EU and EAEU countries.

In turn, the Pakistani side noted its firm intention to strengthen trade and economic ties with the Kyrgyz Republic, and also confirmed its readiness to visit our country with a business visit at the earliest opportunity in order to increase cooperation on projects of mutual interest.
