The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with the newly appointed Secretary General of the GCC Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi

On May 7, 2023, in Riyadh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with the newly appointed Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi.

The parties discussed issues on the agenda of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the GCC and prospects for their further development. They also exchanged views on the most pressing issues of the regional and international agenda.

The parties confirmed the common desire to develop political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the GCC.

Ambassador U.Maripov congratulated Jasem Al-Budaiwi on his appointment as Secretary General and wished him success in his new post.

In turn, Jasem Al-Budaiwi noted that the member states of the GCC with the Kyrgyz Republic share many values, and assured that, as the Secretary General of the organization, he would make every effort to further develop relations with the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue close coordinated work in order to promote the reached agreements and organize highest and high level mutual visits.

For reference: The Gulf Cooperation Council was established on May 25, 1981 and includes six states - United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.
