On July 11, 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Georgia Kairat Osmonaliev met with the Director of the Georgian Airports Association Irakli Karkeshadze. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of launching regular flights between Kutaisi and Bishkek.

Irakli Karkeshadze noted that Kutaisi International Airport is becoming more and more attractive for airlines due to the increase in passenger traffic. He emphasized the readiness of the Association of Airports of Georgia to support the development of direct flights between Georgia and the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of the meeting, both sides expressed hope for the successful implementation of this initiative.

For reference: In the first quarter of 2023, 3,432 visitors from Kyrgyzstan visited Georgia. In 2022, the number of visitors was 14,218, which is 7% more than in 2019.
