On April 5, 2023, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova met with the President of T'way Airlines Yong Hong Kyung.

During the meeting, the Korean side informed about the plan of launching direct flights from June 11, 2023 on weekly basis (on Sundays) for the summer period. Yong Hong Kyung especially emphasized that the company specially purchased new Boeing 737 aircraft to carry out flights to Kyrgyzstan. It was noted that the company is currently completing the relevant procedures for performing flights.

In turn, A. Ismailova noted that the Kyrgyz side is interested in opening direct flights and is ready to provide comprehensive assistance. She invited the T’way’s officials to pay a visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in honor of the direct flights opening in the near future. She emphasized that the opening of direct flights between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea would give a strong impetus to the development of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts between the two countries.
