The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Azizbek Madmarov met with the Deputy Director of the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) Ms. Wakako Hashimoto

On January 27, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Azizbek Madmarov met with the Deputy Director of the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) Ms. Wakako Hashimoto.

During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of education, particular through the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) of the Government of Japan.

The Kyrgyz side noted the significant contribution of Japan to the development of the human resources of our state through the implementation of various scholarship and educational programs, including staff capacity building of the system of state and municipal government of the Kyrgyz Republic through the JDS project.

Deputy Minister Azizbek Madmarov and the Japanese delegation exchanged views on the structure of the project for a new 4-year phase for 2023-2026.

Currently, within the framework of the JDS project, civil servants of Kyrgyzstan are being trained in such areas as public administration, international relations, information and communication technologies, economics, agriculture and environmental policy.

The JDS project has been implemented in Kyrgyzstan since 2007, and during this period 248 civil servants of the Kyrgyz Republic were sent to study at universities in Japan.
