On June 17, 2023, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Federal Republic of Germany, together with activists and representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Germany took part in the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games 2023, which was held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

A National team of 9 people arrived at this large-scale sporting event from the Kyrgyz Republic, of which 6 – athletes. These talented athletes will represent Kyrgyzstan in sports such as badminton, powerlifting and table tennis.

For reference: The Special Olympics World Games 2023 is the biggest multi-sport event in Germany since the 1972 Munich Olympics. During June 18-25, thousands of athletes with intellectual and multiple disabilities from 190 countries will compete in 26 sports.

The slogan of the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin is #ZusammenUnschlagbar #UnbeatableTogether. It aims to express the idea of creating an inclusive society through the unifying power of sport.
