On January 14, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Ruslan Kazakbaev had a telephone conversation with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Ms. Terhi Hakala.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the development of the situation in Kazakhstan. They noted efforts of the leadership and people of Kyrgyzstan to support the fraternal people of Kazakhstan in resolving the crisis and ensuring stability in the country.

When discussing issues on the bilateral agenda, the sides confirmed their intention to consistently implement agreements and plans for the near future in order to expand and strengthen partnership and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union. This includes the exchange of high level visits, the signing of an Expanded Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, project and program interaction within the framework of the Multi-Year Indicative Program.
