On June 22, 2022, in the city of Manama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Zheenbek Kulubaev, held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Sovereign Fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain "Mumtalakat" Khalid Al-Rumayhi, during which he discussed opportunities for organizing joint work and promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Minister Zh. Kulubaev informed the interlocutor about the opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic for investment, geographical location, natural resources and major projects being worked out in the field of energy, agriculture, subsoil use and infrastructure development. He also informed about the most priority areas that the country's leadership pays special attention to and which may be attractive to foreign investors, in particular, the development of ecotourism, the hotel business, the production of drinking water, the export of agricultural products and meat. It was noted that the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic was created to facilitate the work of investors.

As successful examples of cooperation with Arab investment funds, projects for the construction of roads, schools, hospitals and other projects implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic through the Saudi Development Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, etc. were cited.

Zh. Kulubaev also stressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz Republic to develop and strengthen cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, and also informed about the results of earlier meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister and other high officials of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

For his part, H. Al-Rumayhi expressed interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and asked for assistance in organizing further negotiations with the relevant competent state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also said that he intends to explore the opportunities available to Kyrgyzstan for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects. The parties agreed to continue further contacts for the implementation of joint projects. Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev invited representatives of the Bahrain Sovereign Wealth Fund to visit Kyrgyzstan to get acquainted with the country's investment potential.
