On May 10, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who arrived in Bishkek on a working visit.

During the meeting, topical issues on the agenda of the Organization, as well as the interaction of the OTS Member States in various fields, including the implementation of the agreements of the heads of state and the decisions of the 9th Summit and the Extraordinary Summit of OTS in Samarkand and Ankara were discussed.

Minister Kulubaev noted the need to strengthen activities in the economic and investment areas, the implementation of specific projects in these areas that would meet the interests of all OTS Member States.

The Secretary General informed the Minister about the current activities of the Organization, about the work plans for 2023, as well as about the ongoing work to improve the effectiveness of the Turkic institutions of cooperation.

The parties also focused on the need to intensify work through the sectoral bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic in various areas of cooperation within the framework of the OTS, as well as on the international activities of the Organization.

In particular, the Minister positively noted the efforts of the Secretary General to establish and strengthen cooperation between the OTS and other international organizations, which in turn enhances the role and importance of the Organization in the international arena.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual intention to further develop the relations of friendship and brotherhood between the Turkic-speaking states.
