The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is ready for close cooperation with the UKDF as part of the intensification of Kyrgyz-Uzbek economic relations

On July 5, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Artykbaev met with the Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund Aziz Aaliev. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic

During the meeting, the Parties discussed issues of interaction between the UKDF and state institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic and exchanged views on the Fund's future plans and prospects for expanding its activities.

Chairman of the Board of the UKDF A.Aaliev said that the main mission of the Fund is to strengthen economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the effective use of opportunities for bilateral cooperation by financing priority mutually beneficial investment projects. He also shared information about the ongoing activities of the UKDF and said that to date, the Fund has received projects in the field of logistics, agriculture, passenger transportation.

Deputy Minister A. Artykbaev, in turn, noted that the Ministry is ready to provide comprehensive assistance to the Fund's activities and support initiatives aimed at building business contacts between Uzbek and Kyrgyz producers, implementing mutually beneficial projects that create value added chains.

In addition, Artykbayev looked forward to seeing that the projects implemented by the UKDF will make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the regions and improve the quality of life of the local people.

Following the meeting, the Parties agreed to continue close cooperation to promote economic diplomacy between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For reference: The Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund was established and operates in accordance with the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 11, 2021 (the Agreement was ratified on August 18, 2021).
