On March 24, 2022, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN in New York, Aida Kasymalieva met with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Head of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs Liu Zhenmin.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN in economic, environmental, and social areas, exchanged views on the current political situation in the world, as well as its impact on the Central Asian region.

In addition, Permanent Representative Aida Kasymalieva informed about the initiatives within the UN, in particular on climate change, the mountain agenda.

In conclusion, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing further fruitful cooperation.
