Round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China

On April 22, 2021, a round table was held dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China. The round table was attended by the management and staff of the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Eurasia of the Chinese Academy of Contemporary International Relations, the Institute of Eurasian Social Development of the Chinese Center for Development and Research under the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Institute of Ethnos’s and Religion of the Chinese Center for Development and research under the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

During the round table, a wide exchange of views took place on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation. The issues of the development of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction were discussed. Ambassador K. Baktygulova told the Chinese side about the internal political and economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, confirmed the commitment of the Kyrgyz side to maintain continuity in developing friendly relations with its foreign partners, protecting the rights of investors and ensuring the safety of foreign citizens in Kyrgyzstan. It was particularly noted that cooperation with China is one of the main priorities in the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan and the importance of further deepening bilateral relations, including practical interaction in the field of investment cooperation.

Also discussed the implementation of joint projects within the framework of the “One Belt - One Road” initiative, cooperation within the SCO, as well as prospects for the further development of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations in the post-coronavirus period.

As a result of the event, the parties agreed to continue fruitful cooperation.
