On May 11, 2021, Ambassador Dinara Kemelova visited the South Korean Severance Hospital at Yonsei University and met with Yonsei University health system President, Dr. Yoon Dong-sup, the Chairman of Seoul Clinical Laboratory, Dr. Lee Kyung-ryul, and the Director of the Center of Academic and International Work, Professor Ahn Shin-Gi. 

During the meeting, the Sides discussed the situation with the coronavirus of the two countries, exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation, and expressed interest in implementing joint projects in the field of healthcare. 

Ambassador Dinara Kemelova suggested establishing contacts with the Clinical hospital of the Presidential Administration and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic by signing a Memorandum of understanding. The Ambassador also suggested investing in projects in the field of healthcare on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, including the project for the Kyrgyz Research Institute of Balneology and Rehabilitation. Drew attention to the potential of joint diagnostic centers in the Issyk-Kul region.

The Sides noted the importance for cooperation in the field of joint surgery, exchange of medical personnel and training. The Ambassador requested to consider the possibility of providing assistance in the form of medical equipment for the capacity building of Kyrgyz hospitals.
