With the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea on April 4 this year a business dialogue was held between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea at the level of vice-presidents of the chambers of the two countries in online format.

 

In her opening speech, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea A. Ismailova noted the existing potential for the development of trade and economic relations between the countries, informed about the ongoing reforms in the country aimed at improving the investment climate, and expressed hope for further fruitful interaction aimed at increasing the level of trade and investment  between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.

 

During the event, the Kyrgyz side presented a number of investment, trade and economic projects aimed at enhancing economic cooperation.  The parties had a productive exchange of views and discussion of the prospects for the implementation of joint projects.

 

In addition, within the framework of the business dialogue, Ambassador A. Ismailova met with the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Korea Lee Sung-woo, during which the parties agreed on the importance of further continuation of interaction.  Particular attention was paid to the visit exchanging discussion of the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.

 

For reference: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Korea is a non-profit organization uniting 180,000 medium and large Korean companies that contribute to the development of economic and foreign trade activities of the Republic of Korea.  The current president of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry is Chae Tae-won, who is also the chairman of SK Group, the second largest conglomerate in Korea specialising mainly in energy, chemical, telecommunications, biopharmaceutical and other fields.
