On May 10, 2023, in the German Bundestag in Berlin, a meeting was held between the deputy of the Bundestag, the chairman of the deputy group in the Bundestag "Germany-Central Asia" Eugen Schmidt and a member of the group, deputies of the Bundestag with representatives of the Embassies of the Central Asian countries in Germany. From the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Federal Republic of Germany, Counselor Ainura Tursumbaeva took part.

During the meeting, representatives of the German Institute Goethe and the Central Office for School Education Abroad (ZfA) presented the activities of these organizations in the Central Asian region. The main goal of the activities of the above German institutions is the development of cultural exchange between the two countries, teaching the German language, and improving the qualifications of German language teachers in Kyrgyzstan.

The participants of the meeting noted the great potential for cooperation between the countries of the Central Asian region with the Goethe Institute and the Central Office for School Education Abroad (ZfA) on the issues of training personnel with the German language in the region, as well as expanding cultural cooperation between Germany and Central Asia.

For reference: In 1994, the Goethe Institute was established in Almaty for cooperation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Institute Goethe in Tashkent is cooperating with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The Goethe Institute in Almaty coordinates the activities of the German Language Educational Center (German Language Center) in Kyrgyzstan, established in Bishkek in 2001, where German language courses are conducted at all levels (A1-C1). Upon completion of the course, you can take an exam and receive a recognized international language certificate in German.

The Goethe Institute in Almaty coordinates the program of partner schools (PASCH) in Kyrgyzstan, the German Reading Room in the Republican Library named after. K. Bayalinov in Bishkek, and also implements various cultural events.

The Central Office for School Education Abroad (ZfA) operates in Kyrgyzstan and cooperates with 8 schools in Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the Partner Schools for the Future (PASCH) initiative. In a number of such schools, examinations are held for obtaining a Diploma of the German language of the II level (DSD-II level B2 / C1) for admission to universities in Germany and Stage I (DSD-I level A2 / B1) for admission to colleges in Germany.

ZfA helps partner schools with the provision of educational materials, in upgrading the skills of German teachers, sends German teachers to partner schools in Kyrgyzstan, and also implements projects of the Central Asian Summer School and Summer Language Camp in Issyk-Kul and school exchanges both within the country and and with Germany.
