On January 22, 2024, in Erfurt, Federal State of Thuringia, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany, Omurbek Tekebaev, and the General Director of the Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cornelia Haase-Lerch.

The meeting was held in order to expand economic cooperation between representatives of the business communities of Kyrgyzstan and Thuringia.

During the meeting, Ambassador O.Tekebaev provided detailed information about the economic potential of Kyrgyzstan and encouraged German companies to invest in Kyrgyzstan.

General Director Cornelia Haase-Lerch introduced the activities of the Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is one of the three Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Federal State of Thuringia, and expressed interest in economic cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, including in the field of training qualified personnel and their employment in Germany.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of German entrepreneurs and representatives of the Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Kyrgyzstan in the spring of 2024.
