History of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine

After gaining sovereignty in 1991, Kyrgyzstan became the first of the post-Soviet republics to send a plenipotentiary representative with the rank of minister to Ukraine, thereby marking the beginning of bilateral relations between the two independent states.
The first head of the diplomatic mission of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kyiv was the famous statesman Ulukbek Chinaliev.
Diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Ukraine were established on September 19, 1992.
In 1993, the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine was transformed into the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine, and in 2000 the Embassy of Ukraine was opened in Bishkek.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated January 25, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ukraine is Idris Anarbekovich Kadyrkulov.
Kyrgyz-Ukrainian relations are distinguished by their traditional friendly character, based on mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation.
One of the priority areas of Kyrgyz-Ukrainian relations is cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, which is carried out taking into account the friendly historical ties between the two peoples.
The bilateral legal framework includes 85 international documents (46 international treaties, 39 interdepartmental agreements), among which the main document of interstate relations is the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Ukraine, signed on June 19, 1996 in the city of Kyiv.
At the same time, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine has additional accreditation in Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova.
