On April 15, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in India, Mr. Askar Beshimov, and the newly appointed Secretary (West) Ministry of External Affairs of India, Mr. Pavan Kapoor.

Ambassador Mr. Askar Beshimov congratulated Mr. Pavan Kapoor on his appointment to the post of Secretary (West) and expressed readiness for the most active joint work on all aspects of bilateral and multilateral interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and India.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and India, first of all on the issue of organizing high-level and highest-level bilateral visits. In preparation for the visits, an agreement was reached to intensify work on bilateral draft documents which are currently under consideration of both sides.

It was separately noted that interaction between the Kyrgyz Republic and India is effectively developing in both bilateral and multilateral formats. In this regard, issues of mutual support within the UN and other organizations were discussed. Attention was also paid to the issues of studying Indian students in the Kyrgyz Republic and other issues.
