On August 28, 2023 in Lakitelek, Hungary the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Kasmambetov Suyunbek Saparbekovich took part in the opening ceremony of the monument to the great manaschi - Sayakbai Karalaev on the territory of the Folklore Centre "Lakitelek".

The solemn event was also attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary L. Kövér, the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary S. Lezák, the Secretary General of TURKSOY S. Raev and the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Hungary T. Kushchubekov. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, public and political figures, representatives of business circles and friends of Kyrgyzstan were invited as official guests.

During the welcoming speech of the State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Kasmambetov, he noted that the establishment of the monument to the great Manaschi - Sayakbai Karalaev in Hungary is a significant event for all Kyrgyz people. "The “Manas” epic is one of the most important artistic treasures of the Kyrgyz nation, which has been handed down from generation to generation for many centuries. It is of great importance for us as a work of folk art, as a historical biography of the people, as a source of national ideology, as a worldview of national revival, as a comprehensive scientific basis", - emphasized S. Kasmambetov.

The evening also included a festive concert with the participation of folk artists of the Kyrgyz Republic. Guests of the event were able to enjoy the performance of Kyrgyz manaschi, dastanchi, komuzists and others.

Note: The Lakitelek Folklore Centre is located in Lakitelek, 100 km from Budapest. The centre was established by the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly S. Lezák and is a place for the study of traditional Hungarian crafts and arts. The Centre regularly organizes workshops, concerts, exhibitions and festivals.
