On October 17, 2023, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Hungary organized a study tour for students from Kyrgyzstan studying at universities in Hungary to the National Assembly of Hungary.

As part of the tour, the Kyrgyz students met with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Mr. Sándor Lezsák. During the welcoming speech, S. Lezsák talked about his special bond to the Central Asian countries, especially to the Kyrgyz Republic, as at a young age he first discovered Kyrgyzstan through the book of the famous Hungarian turkologist Ármin Vámbéry "Journey through Central Asia". S. Lezsák also emphasized that in the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary special importance is given to common historical, geographical and cultural roots.

In addition, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary S. Lezsák informed Kyrgyz students about the activities of the Lakitelek Institute established by him, where they teach foreign languages and culture, implement educational programmes and seminars for scholars and students from Hungary and other countries. He also spoke about the opening of a monument to the manaschi Sayakbai Karalaev in Hungary and the events joined by the cultural and artistic figures from Kyrgyzstan.

After the meeting, a tour of the Parliament building was organized for the Kyrgyz students, during which the students visited the main halls and rooms, learned about the history and structure of the National Assembly of Hungary.
