On February 26, 2019 Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova met with Chairman of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) Chairman Shin Myoung-jin.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of current trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Korea. In particular, Ambassador Dinara Kemelova expressed the intention of the Kyrgyz side to increase the volume of trade with Korea. She noted that Kyrgyz companies are interested in entering the Korean market by establishing supplies of environmentally friendly agricultural products to Korea. Ambassador also expressed interest in attracting Korean technology and investment in the processing of agricultural products in the Kyrgyz Republic. Besides, she called on Korean companies to participate in setting up joint ventures for the export of Kyrgyz agricultural products to European countries within the framework of the General System of Preferences for the GSP +, and also to Eurasian Economic Union countries.

Chairman of the KOIMA Shin Myoung-jin informed that KOIMA in its activity is focused on import of foreign goods and products to Korea, therefore, it closely cooperates with foreign companies and assists in expanding ties with potential Korean enterprises.

The sides also discussed the possibilities of holding business forum in Kyrgyzstan with the participation of a large number of Korean companies this year.

Along with this, the sides discussed preparation issues of the international exhibition “Import Goods Fair” on June 27 to 29 of this year in Seoul, where Kyrgyz companies are planning to attend.
