On April 11, 2022, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea, Aida Ismailova, held a meeting with representatives of the Department for Exchange and Cooperation of Hamyang County, headed by the Head of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, Jong Sun Woo.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the program of hiring Kyrgyz Republic citizens for seasonal agricultural work for up to 5 months within the framework of the signed Agreement on Friendly Exchange between Hamyang County and Uzgen District State Administration. As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to employ 70 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic for seasonal work. Citizens will be involved in the work of growing onions, strawberries, apples and mushrooms. At the same time, the main condition of the Korean side is the guarantee of the local authority of the Kyrgyz Republic that upon completion of the contract, citizens must return to the Kyrgyz Republic. In case of successful implementation of this program, the administration of Hamyang County will annually employ citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic for seasonal work.

Ambassador A.Ismailova thanked the Korean side for the opportunity of temporary employment of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, which also provides a unique chance to study the Korean experience of agricultural development. Also, the parties discussed measures to create good living and working conditions for citizens, as well as respect for their labor rights.

Also, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea continues to actively work to employ citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to seasonal agricultural work with other provinces and districts of the Republic of Korea.
