On October 18, 2022, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea organized a meeting of the delegation of the Bishkek City Kenesh (BGC) with the Representatives of the Seoul City Council.

The official meeting from the Kyrgyz side was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea A.Ismailova, BGK deputies S. Abdullajanov, A.Ashyrova from the Chairperson of the Seoul City Council Kim Hyeon Ki, Deputy Vice Chairperson Woo Hyoung Chan and Deputy of the City Council of Seoul A.Ashiralieva.

The Korean side briefly presented the history, structure and activities of the Seoul City Council to the guests. During the meeting, negotiations were held to strengthen bilateral relations between Bishkek and Seoul.

During the meeting, the head of the Kyrgyz delegation, S. Abdullajanov stressed that there is currently a solid basis for expanding bilateral cooperation in 2016 the MOU on cooperation and exchange was signed between the BGC and the Seoul City Council.

The Chairperson of the Seoul City Council Kim Hyeon Ki noted that the visit of the Kyrgyz delegation to Seoul would be a good reason to intensify the agreement based on experience in various fields of activity between representatives of the bodies of the two capitals.

Ambassador A. Ismailova thanked the Korean side for organizing the meeting and expressed hope for the continuation of warm and friendly cooperation between the cities of Seoul and Bishkek while noting that the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea would take all necessary measures for further mutually beneficial cooperation two capitals.

Following the meeting the Chairperson of the Seoul City Council Kim Hyeon Ki assured the Kyrgyz side of his readiness to intensify bilateral cooperation.
