The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Sohn Hyuk-Sang

As part of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev to the Republic of Korea, on October 23, 2022, in Seoul, a bilateral meeting was held with the President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Sohn Hyuk-Sang.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further strengthening interaction and development of grant and technical cooperation through KOICA, taking into account the inclusion of Kyrgyzstan in the list of priority countries for receiving official development assistance (ODA) from the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Strategy approved in January 2022 by the Korean side assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at the economic and social development of Kyrgyzstan.

The parties discussed the implementation of current projects and the promotion of project applications for 2024 in priority areas: public administration, digitalization, green economy, environment, agriculture, healthcare, social security and security.

Minister Kulubaev noted that the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the activities of KOICA, and the presence of the Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan gives an additional incentive for the development of the country in various fields. He indicated that since independence, KOICA has become a reliable partner and friend of Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz side noted the importance of implementing more joint projects in priority areas of cooperation.

In turn, President Sohn Hyuk-Sang informed about the activities of KOICA in the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, noted the growth in the volume of assistance provided to Kyrgyzstan. He expressed gratitude for the mutually beneficial cooperation and highly appreciated the effective interaction of KOICA with the Kyrgyz side.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Kulubaev invited the President of KOICA Sohn Hyuk-Sang to visit Kyrgyzstan in the near future.
