With the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea, on October 20, 2023, the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. M. Turgunbayev met with the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea Mrs. Han Hwa-Jin. This meeting took place within the framework of the visit of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea Han Hwa-Jin to the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas for further cooperation. In particular, the issues of responding to climate change, environmental protection, water resources management, etc. were touched upon.

The Korean side expressed readiness to exchange experience and technologies in all priority areas of cooperation and announced the planned implementation of projects to create a smart irrigation system and the introduction of a disaster warning system in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea.
